Momofuku Seiobo Sydney - The Star

These photos were taken in 2012 - when Momofuku was still new and just opened up. We visited and made sure to get the bar seating as we were told that was the best view in the house.

Wow. 13 course degustation - I believe that was my first time having so much food! At first sight, some of the dishes may look like it really isn't much but by the time I was devouring course number 8 I was already feeling really full. So... if you do go, please pace yourself!

View from the bar seating - right into the kitchen as they prepare our food!

Snacks as the first serving

Shitake Chip

Smoked Potato

Nori

Mochi

Steamed pork bun. Now this was delicious! The bun was just so soft and the pork succulent balanced out with cucumber and hoisin. Just divine!

The chefs preparing more dishes for us. It was so enjoyable and intriguing to watch them work away and preparing our dishes in front of our eyes!

Sea Mullet

Marron

Beef - how beautiful is the radish covering??

Almost don't want to eat it because it's so pretty!

Smoked Eel

Quick soup in between to clean the palette

Spanner Crab with yorkshire pudding. This was delicious! I was already feeling kind of full by then...

Egg with brown butter and toasted rice

Look at the gooey egg center!

Pea Agnolotti - I know it doesn't look like alot but all the sauces and the dishes before are really settling in by now. Even though I am already full at this stage, this was still one of my favourite dishes of the night. The flavour combination was superb, I really enjoyed this dish!

Mulloway

Lamb Neck

Honey licorice and bee pollen. Beautiful isn't it? I love how this leads into the dessert dishes with the first hint of sweetness to the meal after the heavy lamb neck dish that presided it.

Peach, Rose, Pistachio

Deconstructed from the meringue shells

Miso, Cherries and Black Sesame final dessert

So very interesting! I really liked the balance of this dish too. Not too sweet, a hint a savoury - just a really interesting combination

My GOD. We finish off with pork. No joke. We were the last seating too so they allowed us to take some left over food back home. By the time they served this, I think I could only manage to  maybe take two slices and put it in my mouth. I was THAT full. But a great meal!  =)

This is definitely a very special experience - for anyone who is a foodie, this is a highly recommend for me. It's a very unique degustation, not your stock standard and David Chang is a real master of creative dishes. Loved the experience!
