So we decided to drive down on Friday night - there's no bookings available at GP so you'll have to line up and wait. The place is quite large though so it didn't take longer than 10-15 minutes for our group to be seated.
GP is actually linked and part of the Fairfield RSL so don't fear if you drive past and think you've missed the restaurant - it's not a take out joint. It's the real restaurant!
I have to say, the menu is extensive - for both the food as well as dessert. There's something here for everyone and we certainly tried to order all the 'famed' dishes. And you know I'm no stranger to gluttony!
Overall a really great night, super cheap of course. Less than $50 per person including all the beers the boys had. And just really great food. I would definitely recommend, there's alot more variety vs Holy Basil. So a strong contender!
Kitchen where the magic happens! |
Fit out abit Holy Basil like? |
Ox Tongue |
Special Laos Sausage |
Fried Quails - one of my fave dishes from the night! |
The roasted chicken. That sauce, I can't explain it. But it's amazing! |
The papaya salad. Wasn't a huge fan, I suggest skipping that for more meaty meals! |
Glass Noodles. A really good combination to break up all the meat we've been having! |
The Pork, Crispy and tender just the way I like it! |
Fried Rice. This was definitely a welcome addition to all the meat we've been having! |
The Thai Beef Salad. Another one of my favourites! |
Duck Curry. It goes so well with the rice too! Definite must order |
The Fried Ice Cream. It was good - but obviously similar to Holy Basil so the novelty wears off |
Pandan Creme Brulee. Another must order - we didn't skimp on the desserts as you can see! |
Durian ice cream with black sticky rice. I didn't have this - because I don't like Durian. But the ones who tried it highly recommended it too! |
